Getting Your Pool Ready
One of the biggest chores to do in summer is to get your pool ready and primed for a season of fun in the sun. At Aqua Pool, our team has years of experience tackling this feat. To streamline your process, we’ve broken down the most crucial steps to set you up for success. Here’s our recipe:
- Open Early
Don’t wait for the day that you want to dive in to do the dirty work. Instead, plan ahead and hop to so that your pool is ready to go. - Prep
Before you get started, take stock of what you have and what you need. Create a checklist to prevent multiple trips to the pool store. Items on your list most likely include shock, chlorine, pH alkalinity, and a chlorine stabilizer in addition to a vacuum hose, head, pool brush, and water test strips. - Filter and Pump
Once you open your pool, you’ll want to get your filter and pump system up and running. Keep running your equipment until your pool water is clear. From there, be sure to run between 10 and 12 hours a day throughout the busy swim season to deal with the user load. - Water Chemistry
Check the pH and balance of your pool water and make any adjustments as necessary. This is one of the most critical steps in getting that sparkling, safe, and refreshing pool experience. - Shock
Algae loves warm water and so does other bacteria. To do a job well, you may need to shock your pool. This treatment effectively kills any lingering organic matters that could cause trouble down the line. - Enjoy
Once your pool is clean and swim-ready, there’s nothing left to do but enjoy the many benefits of pool ownership! Okay, maybe a little upkeep but we’re on your team.
